Turkey 2019 Solo Traveler Budget
Turkey is more expensive than SE Asia, but still cheaper than the states. I found meals to be more pricey and also the attractions were quite expensive. I included the flight to the country in the numbers but will also include the average without the flight, for a more accurate daily living budget.

The total for my stay in Turkey is $728.45 with an average of $66.22 per day ($33.88/day NOT including the flight).
Big purchases:
– Flight to Istanbul.
– SIM Card – I had to get this, those streets were CONFUSING.
– Entrance to attractions.

I am currently doing a volunteering job in Bulgaria which has helped reduce the budget for June to a smaller amount. I am cooking most of my meals and get free housing. Hopefully, the rest of eastern Europe will have reasonable prices. It seems to be a bit cheaper here than Turkey but it is also a little off the ‘backpacker path’ which usually means less cheap dorms and confusing transportation moments. Leaving my volunteering soon to explore the Black Sea!
