Thailand 2018 Solo Traveler Budget

Thailand was pretty cheap….until I went to the hospital in Chiang Dao. I did a lot of walking when I wasn’t volunteering and just exploring towns (free!). When I was working, I had breakfast and housing paid for. That’s most of the expenses you incur in a small town like Chiang Dao!

The total for my month in Thailand is $408.98 with an average of $16.36 per day.

Big purchases:

  • SIM card.
  • Plane trip.
  • Hospital visit.

Exact numbers:

Restaurants: $106.28
Transit: $76.63
Housing: $62.93
Internet: $34.25
Clinic: $22.14
Transportation (taxi): $21.97
Alcohol: $17.01
Shopping: $16.35
Pharmacy: $14.74
Bills: $9.35
Water: $8.50
Clothing: $8.09
Entertainment: $6.59
Cafe: $6.57
Grocery: $5.04
Books: $1.04

I was obsessed with chocolate bonbons during this month for some reason so that is quite literally what makes up most of my general “shopping” number. It was nice to have a month where my spending is less.

Bangkok at night.
