Cambodia 2018 Solo Traveler Budget

I am spending more in Southeast Asia than I had predicted, but I never say no to good food or activities! I may be living by the budget but I am not CHEAP. In Cambodia, I was doing pretty well until Siem Reap, Angkor screwed me.

Kampot, my cheapest Cambodia destination and my most favorite.

Comparatively, housing, drinks, food, transportation, everything was more expensive in Cambodia than Vietnam but I actually spent less because I wasn’t moving around as much.

My biggest purchases were:

  • Park pass for Angkor
  • Accommodation, food, and transportation

Exact numbers:

Restaurants: $229.10
Housing: $161.10
Transit: $116
Entertainment: 102.75
Bills: $39
Transportation (tuk tuks): $38.25
Alcohol: $10.50
Water: $8.50
Clothing: $8
Shopping: $4
Cafe: $4
Internet: $4
Books: $1.50
Gifts: $1.35

My daily average was $34.67 and the grand total is $758.55. Seems to be the trend, about 35/day in SE Asia. I get shocked sometimes at how much I seem to be spending when everything is so cheap but…numbers don’t lie! I am currently volunteering in northern Thailand and so far my daily average for Thailand is about 10/day. Phew. 🙂

Peace out from the mountains of northern Thailand!
