September 2018 Budget
I spent a lot less money in September than I did in August. In September I had zero housing costs because I am currently volunteering in an English cafe in Seoul in exchange for housing. The house also comes with rice, ramen, and kimchi; so I have been spending less on groceries in general!
Big Purchases
- Going out to eat
- Unavoidable, Korean food is my favorite in the world.
- Flights
- I got a flight to visit Jeju Island and Busan after I am done with my time volunteering.

Where I went off Budget
- Food
- With a kitchen, I assumed I would cook more and go out to eat less…nope!
- Flights
- In the United States, domestic flights are very expensive so I assumed it would be similar here. I was wrong and it is cheap! I only spent about 80 bucks, including checked baggage.
I am excited because I spent so little this month that it compensated for last month and my time in Japan. I am in Korea for a few more weeks and hope to continue to spend little so that once I get to Southeast Asia I am in a good place financially.
xoxo, T
